Cheryl and Peter Ainsworth have been awarded the inaugural Fremantle Sailing Club Cruiser of the Year Award.
Onboard their yacht Stolen Kiss Cheryl and Peter have cruised for over ten years, visiting 28 countries, travelling 45,000 miles. They have visited the Western coast of Australia, South East Asia, traversed the Indian Ocean and took time to volunteer in Thailand to aid the tsunami victims. They have crossed the Pacific via the ‘milk run’, cruised the Sea of Cortez and returned to the East Australian coast.
Robbie Hayes Hearse, member of the Cruising Committee commented: “All of the nominees were quite outstanding and worthy of winning. The judging committee had a very difficult task in choosing the winner.”
All nominations from Freemantle Sailing Club will now be included in the nomination selection to win the Cruising Helmsman Cruiser of the Year Award. Good luck to you all.
Congratulations Cheryl and Peter.
Award nominations will re-open for the 2017 awards. Watch this space for further details.
